About Lisa

Hi, I'm Lisa.

My approach to this work is largely relational with a trauma-informed, feminist and anti-oppressive lens. I practice as an LGBTQIA+, kink, poly, BIPOC, weight inclusive and neurodiversity affirming therapist.

As an individual and couples therapist, I am skilled at providing specialized care in the areas of sex therapy, couple/relationship therapy, and issues specific to the LGBTQIA+ community, including those in non-traditional relationships.  I utilize a sex-positive approach and have experience working with a wide range of sexual expression and orientations. I also bring many years of experience working with folks who identify as queer, trans, non-binary, and gender non-conforming.

I engage in many pathways toward healing depending on individual needs. This may include experiential therapy that focuses on the body. Additionally, I am committed to a body liberation approach and Somatic Abolitionism. It has been my experience that when we are able to connect our emotional experience with our bodily experience, we gain the ability to make meaningful and lasting change.

After earning my Master’s degree from the University of Michigan, I became a Licensed Clinical Social Worker through the National Association of Social Workers (NASW). I am a Certified Sex Therapist through the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists (AASECT). I am also trained as a Level I provider of Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, through the Sensorimotor Processing Institute (SPI) and am an Internal Family Systems-informed therapist. With over 15 years of experience in community mental health and as a sex therapist, it is my hope that my training and experience can be helpful to you.

Looking forward to hearing from you.
